Ephesians 1:19 (NKJ), “and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…”
What the church needs more and more in today’s culture of rapid moral decline is the manifestation of the power of God. While persecution of Christian values is on the rise, the display of God’s glory must become increasingly evident. As God displays His power in the working of signs, wonders and miracles - as He did through the early church - the fear of God will be established, and the church will rise up in victory and power - in spite of the devil’s agenda for the earth. The sad reality is that there is a false doctrine that has been hanging around the church for centuries, that states these demonstrations of God’s miraculous power ceased to operate in the church when the last of the apostles died. No wonder the church is demonstrating such a deficit in power. Jesus made our commission very clear in Matthew 28:19-20. He instructed us to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! That baptism isn't just an outward demonstration of our internal commitment to the Lord - it’s a demonstration of the transference of all that is in the Name of God being placed into our lives, through the power of the Holy Spirit! In His very next breath, Jesus said, “…teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” That word observe, literally means to take note of, to watch and to do. We are supposed to take note of, to watch, and to do everything Jesus did when He walked the earth - until His return! In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus told us how His power would be demonstrated through those who believe - as we use His Name! If God’s demonstrative power ceased to operate through His church, it would mean the power invested in His Name would have to have decreased. Which would make His Word a lie. God is in His Name. His Name is highly exulted! It holds more authority than any other name in 3 worlds - for eternity! Scripture says that by no other name can we be saved! It is impossible for God to lie - just as it is impossible for His Name to diminish in power. We, His church, have been given His Name - so shake off any lie that states otherwise - and rise up in the authority Jesus delegated to you and believe in the power that is invested in His Name - to do the works of power He told us to do!
