The Cross, Pentecost & Heavenly Places

Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV), “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

As children of God, we must be careful to read, understand and embrace everything we have been given in Christ Jesus. There are believers who never seem to get passed the revelation of the cross. Praise God for the cross, it signifies the death of our old nature that lived independent from God. The terrible debt of all our sin was paid for on that cross. Our redemption has been secured because of the pure and perfect love and mercy of God’s Own Son’s shed blood. But there’s more! There is the resurrection of Christ which made way for the release of His Holy Spirit to reside in every believer! The resurrection signifies the new existence we now have - Christ living in us and using our human bodies as His Own dwelling place! But there’s even more than that! The Bible says just as God caused Jesus to be seated in heavenly places - in the realm of the spirit - we were raised with Him and seated with Him in heavenly places too! We are raised up together with Christ into a newness of life! A brand-new man has been re-created in us! And now we are seated with Him in the very same place He is - at the right hand of the throne of God - the center of the power of the whole universe! We are to partake of the authority which that throne represents. Of course, the extent to which we experience the reality of what we possess in Christ and the position of authority we have in Him, depends on how much we consistently feed on these truths and meditate on them. We have been given the seat of authority over the enemy and the ability to operate in the power of God to bring life, blessing, peace and wholeness wherever we go - because we carry the Presence of God in us and the atmosphere of heaven flows from us.  While we remain aware of this truth, we will embrace the full Gospel - from the cross to Pentecost to being seated in Heavenly Places - just as Christ intends for us to do.
