The Eyes of Your Heart

Every born-again believer is a spirit, alive in God, and living in a natural body while here on earth. In life, everything begins in the spirit realm before it's manifest in the natural. That spirit realm is unseen to the natural eye, but when we look through the eyes of our spirits, we are able to perceive things that are far greater, and more real than what our natural eyes and physical senses can comprehend. Ephesians 1:17 & 18 says that we can have a spirit of revelation by having the eyes of our hearts flooded with light, so that we can know and understand the hope to which He has called us, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in us. When we begin to see things through the eyes of our spirits, we will not be intimidated by the trouble we see in the natural. In 2 Kings 6, we read of how the prophet Elisha and his servant came face to face with trouble and danger, that was sure to lead to their demise. An angry, enemy army was about to take them out! The servant's natural reaction to what he saw through his natural eyes was fear! But when Elisha prayed that God would let him see through the eyes of his spirit, he saw an army of God's heavenly warriors completely surrounding the enemy. When the servant saw into the spirit realm, he saw a different reality to what was in the natural! As a result, faith rose up strong inside of him, and God gave them a mighty victory that day. When we allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate what His Word says about us, and we begin to see ourselves as He does, faith rises inside of us. It's faith that allows us to grab a hold of the things in the spirit realm, and it's our words of faith that bring them into the natural. If there are things in your life, and the world around you, that are contrary to what God's Word says they should be, then it's time to build your faith in God's Word, and use your words of faith to bring the change. Remember this is what please God - let your faith be the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen!
