The word patience carries within it so much value, especially when it comes to inheriting and living in the reality of God's promises. Contrary to popular belief, patience is not a fruit of the Spirit that is there to help us suffer failure gracefully. Rather, it's a supernatural quality we draw from and use to keep our faith strong and our joy and peace in tact, while we wait expectantly for God's promises to become our reality. Patience is what gives us great confidence in God, being convinced that He will do exactly what He has promised in His Word. Many believers become discouraged and lose this confidence when they don't see the answers as quickly as they desire. Mark 11:24 clearly says that whatever we ask for in prayer, we must believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to us, and we will [get it]. This means, the moment we pray for something that is in line with the will of God, and by faith believe it is ours, we have it. It's received in the spirit, and will be manifest in the natural. However, during the time between receiving it in the spirit, to seeing it manifest in the natural, we must let patience do it's work. That means refuse to think or speak negatively or contrary to what the Word has promised, instead, remain expectant, continuously thanking the Lord for His faithfulness to perform His Word concerning us. The word patience means to be consistently constant, while under pressure. If you are feeling the pressure while waiting for God's promises to be fulfilled in your life, draw from the gift of patience that already abides inside you. Remember, It's that good fight of faith we fight so don't be tempted to give into fear and doubt and lose the tight grip you have on faith. Let patience do her work as you keep your eyes on the Lord and expectantly wait for His promises to be fulfilled in your life.
