Anchor Your Faith

Jesus makes a profound statement in Mark 11:24, stating that we can pray for anything, and if we believe that we have (already) received it, it will be ours. In other words, we can expect that whatever we pray for in faith, is already established in the spiritual realm. Now, Romans 4:16 says inheriting the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favour), to make it stable and valid and guaranteed to those who share the faith of Abraham. So if every promise in God's Word already exists in the realm of the spirit, faith is what reaches out and brings what has been promised into our natural world. The real question is how to get our faith to be strong enough to do this for us. Well, since faith is wholeheartedly believing what the Word of God says, it has to be anchored and rooted in something so powerful that it can't be moved or waver in doubt. It has to be vitally connected to something that fuels it with power and strength, making it a force that is impossible to fail. I believe 1 Corinthians 1:9 tells us exactly what that anchor is. It says that God is faithful (reliable, and trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on). The anchor of our faith is our trust in God. We unquestionably believe His Word because we unquestionably believe in Him. Spend time today in the presence of the Lord. Yield to His Spirit Who lives inside you, and let Him fill you to overflowing as He reminds you of His everlasting faithfulness towards you. You can completely trust and rely on His Word, because you trust and rely on Him.
