To honor someone, is to have a high respect for them and hold them in great esteem. When God commanded us to honor our parents, it was essentially for the position of authority and accountability He placed on them to raise us according to His ways. As we submit and yield to godly authority, knowing and doing what is morally right, His promise of a good, long life is ours to enjoy.
