Embrace God's Good Gifts

Everything that comes from God is a gift to us; it's always very good and specifically for our profit and benefit. Jesus coming to earth to die and rise again for our salvation is a gift. The Holy Spirit making His home within us is a gift. The written Word of God is a gift. Each gift enhances, enriches and improves our lives. That has always been God's purpose towards us and it will never, ever change. So why would we even entertain the thought that sickness or calamity is from Him? Why would we even imagine that He would be glorified through our pain, or hurt or misfortune? The curse of sin that gave the devil free reign to raise havoc and devastation in this world is the cause of heartache and lack, along with man's choice to side with error. That's why God sent Jesus and every other gift that is freely available for us to embrace. Each gift brings us freedom and supernatural peace and joy. God has given every person a measure of faith to accept and appropriate His powerful grace that enables us to operate in every spiritual gift. Everything we will ever need to live a full, satisfied life in Him has been given to us. Why then have we become prejudice against accepting certain spiritual gifts? Especially if they are all designed to strengthen and empower us to live victoriously? In 1 Corinthians 14:1 we are told to earnestly pursue love and desire spiritual gifts. Today, search your heart, see if you have allowed it to become hardened concerning any good gift God has extended to His church, that is found in His Word for our benefit. Lay your preconceived ideas at His feet and take a leap of faith to embrace what He has freely given us, for our good.
