The evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, is one of the most effective and powerful tools of evangelism. While the character or fruit of the Holy Spirit is constantly influencing our own nature, changing us from glory to glory from the inside, the gifts of the Holy Spirit outwardly demonstrate His supernatural power. In the book of 1 Corinthians, Paul repeatedly urges believers to earnestly desire operating in the spiritual gifts. Not only do they build and encourage the body of Christ, they draw the lost to Jesus and actively deliver them from the oppression of the enemy. The world is looking for the power of God that is alive and able to not only save them, but supernaturally deliver them and bring them into a glorious new life of intimacy with God and victory over the devil. They are not impressed by how modern or excellent your church is. They aren't longing for Christians to accept their addictions or bondages. They want to be free, they want something completely different to what has held them in misery and shame. Only a supernatural encounter with the Living God is going to truly satisfy them and give them the change they are searching for. According to the Word, every child of God has the power to demonstrate the supernatural works of God! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within us. We received Him as a Gift from God. So we are not our own. We were bought with a price and made His own. So then, we must honour God and bring glory to Him in our bodies. We must desire His spiritual gifts, understand how to cultivate and operate in them and be determined to be used by God to bring in the mighty harvest of souls in these end times! It's time to stop being ignorant of the gifts of the Spirit and too afraid to step out in faith concerning them. This is God's perfect will for you, so get into His Word, educate yourself in the gifts and demonstrate His power like you were born to do!
