Keep Your Eyes on Him

Jesus didn't only speak about obedience to God, He demonstrated it, by doing only what He saw the Father do. Not once did He do anything out of His own will. Even though He could have, and most certainly was tempted to, His desire to do the will of His Father in all things, was far greater than seeking His own. That's how much He loved and trusted His Father's intensions towards Him and us. You see, the reason Jesus left His place in heaven, was to demonstrate the heart and nature of His Father to us. He said that if we wanted to see and know the Father, we only needed to see and know Him (John 14:9-11). That's why He walked in perfect harmony with God, to be a perfect reflection of Who He is, for us. Before Jesus left this earth to return to His Father, He prayed that just as He and the Father are one, we would be one with Them too (John 17:21-24). That's His heart's desire for us, and He showed us that it is absolutely possible for us to experience this, every day of our lives. Just like it was with Jesus, it requires our eyes and hearts to be completely focused on the Lord. Seeking His heart in His Word each day and choosing to remain sensitive to His voice at all times, makes it possible for us to constantly feel and hear and follow His Spirit that is alive inside us. Today, decide to focus intently on Him in all you do, get rid of every unnecessary distraction that would steal your attention away from Him. Listen and see what is on His heart for you and respond by faith, in love. There is nothing more satisfying than living in complete harmony with Him.
