Remain in the Spirit, and You Won't be Intimidated by the Natural!

Elijah hid in a cave, terrified of Queen Jezebel's threats. What a strange way to act after being in the thick of God's supernatural display of power and sovereignty! He had just single handedly, slain 450 blasphemous prophets of Baal, and outrun a horse driven chariot across the desert. No wonder God asked him, "Elijah, what are you doing here?" Elijah had been so consumed with what was happening in the Spirit that day. He was operating in the power of God, listening to every Word the Lord said, and carrying it out with a bold confidence, without a moments hesitation. But as soon as the battle was over, and the victory won, he fell right back into focusing in the natural. Suddenly, his circumstances and the threats of the enemy became too intimidating for him to endure. How often do we lose sight of what God shows us in the Spirit, and forget the Word He puts into our hearts; only to look at our circumstances and become afraid of what we see in the natural? Let's decide to shake off fear and despair, and turn our eyes right back onto the Lord again. We can listen carefully to the voice of His Spirit, and feel His courage and peace we’ll up inside us. Our confidence will return when we choose to listen to that still, small voice, and know that He is God!
